Boater safety in todays world (pirates)

Today we are all listening to the news in a part of the world that most we never venture into, unless you happen to be a paid mariner, or in the U.S. Navy.

The problem in today’s worlds in my humble opinion is we have to be political correct and give away our rights in the way of speech and defence of ones self and many others that I will not get into lets stay on topic.

When this country was founded the newly elected or appointed leaders seen the future from there past, this means they knew that everyone has free will and that government should not inter-fear in there lives as far as the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We all need to be able to defend ours selves  armed intruders weather in our homes our at sea on our boats, the right to bear arms is needed and should not be stifeled by people that what control over our lives to there benefit and not mine.

When I am on the water on my boat I have self defence weapons so if I’m ever boarded by uninvited persons intending to do harm to me or my property I know I am able to defend what is mine that I have put my blood and sweat into, let me stop and say this is my opinion, the maritime world has always been weak except for the U.S.. When pirates started there raids on merchant vessels in the 1800′s Then President Jefferson decided to put a stop to it.

The birth of the U.S. Marine, a branch of the Navy back then and still today. Prior to that the world used privateer’s or buccaneered to either protect or pillage shipping. Today our navy patrols the water of the world with (2) types of missions that are needed,  a world power to prevent war, and a humane relief group to take aid and comfort to areas of the world that become affected from natural disasters. A third mission has developed into negotiators between countries and pirates, what they need to do is what former President Jefferson and the strong Presidents from our resent past have done show just and reasonable action to the unjust of to-days maritime world.

What we need is owner’s of the ships or ship lines to understand, that protecting crews and cargo from pirates or the passenger cruise lines from the same criminals. It  is cheaper to protect your vessel and the life on board  than paying claims by insurance companies to families that loose loved ones or cargo claims because of the loss from theft. So when I say I carry weapons for self defence more people need to rethink there part in there own self protection.

Learning to use weapons responsibly are correctly is needed to slow down and eventually stop the pirates in there tracs. When they (criminals)  learn that the boat there going to board and do harm is armed they move on if not they know their in for a fight that they may not come back from.

So as we get started for this new season on the water think about where your going to be sailing or cruising this year you may be planning a trip out of the U.S. controlled waters and you need to know this there are maritime laws for the open seas and each country has their own laws pertaining to guns you need to check out their laws before venturing into them so you stay legal.

Register your guns take the gun safety course and if you want apply for a carry permit each state is different so you need to check your states on their laws for me The Federal government as a carry permit I use for transport of vessels so I can assure that my customer have their vessel delivered intact and safely so they can start out with the fun that I enjoy.

Be safe and take the boater safety course, and an operator course so you will enjoy boating without any head aches.

Be responsible Don’t drink and operate your boat.
