Please tell about your best or worst boating expeirance the tell who it made the day go.
Today we have been informed that the boating accident off the west coast of florida has been discontinued by the U.S. Coast Gaurd, the recovery of one victim and the loss of 3 other soles tells us that there are families out there tonight grieving the loss of there loved ones.
How did this happen and how do we prevet this from happening again?
WE CAN’T, Let me clairify why, we can educate the boating population but it is up to the operator to make the call if the trip that is planned should proceed based on weather and water conditions and if the vessel it’s self, as well as the experiance of the operator.
The reason or this is to show that planning a boat trip is more than making sure we fill the fuel tank and cooler with our favorite beverages we need to check the current weather and forecast, make a float plan and make sure to file it with a responsible person have all the safety equipment required for the size and type of boat being used. All regulations are complied with regarding rules of the road and safety. Never over load your boat the manufacturer makes a plate and mounts it close to the helm of every boat this ensures that you stay afloat and don’t sink or capsize.
